Hello, Team! With the Proven Process Baselining + Refresh efforts coming to a close, this is an opportune moment for a (very) quick review of the Stoneridge Playbook--what it is, some basic navigation, and what you can expect to find.

If you are viewing this via email, make sure to click "trust sender" to see the attached images!

Reminder: What is the Playbook?

As a reminder, the Playbook is an internal enablement resource that houses documentation of Stoneridge's Proven Process and helpful templates, client samples, tools, and other artifacts to support team members in how we plan and execute work within the Proven Process.

Just like how the Proven Process is a framework, the Playbook should be used by project teams as a baseline, empowering teams to make informed decisions on how to modify or scale our Proven Process to best meet the needs of the client, project, and our Stoneridge teams.

As a best practice at the start of every project, we recommend that all team members look to the Playbook as their first stop shop for templates and other resources. There is a wealth of material that exists in the Playbook--much of which has been vetted/tested by your fellow Stoneridge team members--that is specifically there to help make your job easier!

Basic Navigation

First, navigate to https://stoneridgeplaybook.com/ and log in with your Stoneridge credentials to get to the main page. To keep things simple, the Playbook is comprised of just three main sections, which you'll find clearly labeled as you scroll down: Foundational Concepts, Proven Process, and Project Types.

FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS

Consider the Foundational Concepts section to be like a mini Stoneridge encyclopedia, particularly the Key Concepts section. Within, you'll find:

  • Definitions for common terms used at Stoneridge

  • Descriptions of critical activities you can expect to engage in the context of a client project

  • If available, downloadable assets that relate to the activity you are viewing

Use Case Example: You are preparing to lead a Project Kickoff session with the client. If you click on "Client Project Kickoff" in the Key Concepts section, you'll find a description of the primary objectives of this session, key process steps, a PowerPoint template deck to get you started, and client samples of past client kickoff presentations.

PROVEN PROCESS

The Proven Process section is just as the name describes: it is an overview the Proven Process and each of the phases.

For Align, Define, Create, Deploy, and Empower, you can expect to see phase objectives, intended client outcomes, common outputs, and phase exit criteria.

The Proven Process Fundamentals section in particular houses a wealth of Playbook and Proven Process-related assets.

Use Case Example: You are preparing to begin a new client-facing project. To help your team align on roles, responsibilities, and ways of working via the Proven Process, you click on the "Proven Process Fundamentals" section to find:

  • Solution Blueprint Materials + Links to Learning

  • ADO Process Materials + Links to Learning

  • Proven Process Sales Enablement materials

  • The Base Project RASCI Workbook

  • ... and more! [See area highlighted in yellow in the screenshot below!]

PROJECT TYPES

The Project Types section may seem daunting, but once you understand how one project is laid out, the rest are easy to follow. This is where you can find how different project types and their activities map to your specific role, with available resources attached accordingly.

Each Project Type is laid out in the following format:

  • At the top: A short description of that project type, along with Key Assets that you may find helpful, regardless of your role.

  • The "Roles" Section: You'll see roles associated with this project type.

  • The "Phases & Activities" Section: These are the common activities for this project type. It is organized in columns by role. If you click into an activity, you'll find a short description, other participants, and best practices if available. If you see a "+" next to the activity, that means there is a downloadable asset available.

Use Case Example: You are a Solution Architect preparing for a Roadmap project. If you click on the "Roadmap" Project Type, scroll down to "Phases & Activities," and find the "Solution Architect" column, the common activities list can help guide you through a Roadmap at a high level, along with their related assets.

NOTE: As a reminder, what is provided in the Playbook should be used by project teams as a baseline. Depending on the needs of the project, client, and Stoneridge team, remember that you can collaborate with your team to make informed decisions on how to scale or modify available resources.

Go and Explore! Any Questions?

Linked in the margin is the Playbook Navigation Guide if you would like a more detailed walkthrough. As with any unfamiliar tool, the best way to get your bearings is to try it for yourself. Once you know what you can expect to find in each section, finding relevant tools and assets becomes pretty straightforward.

The Playbook is iteratively being improved upon, and we recognize that there are areas that may need some adjustment to best suit team member needs. As you explore, please feel free to reach out to the Continuous Improvement Team with any questions or feedback, or use the built-in feedback mechanism in the Playbook, and a member of the CI Team or Playbook Admin will respond.

Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
